Unique Approach

YOUR spine may be causing DIS-EASE

DID YOU KNOW?

The Nervous System is the most important factor in the development and health of your body. In fact your nervous system affects the expression of your DNA. In today’s drug-and-surgery based health care there are very few methods to effectively evaluate nervous system function. By the time symptoms are evident, nervous system dysfunction has been present so long that extensive damage has likely already occurred.

WHAT KIND OF DAMAGE OCCURS?

Neurosurgeon, Dr. Alf Breig pioneered research on a nervous system disorder called Adverse Mechanical Tension. This describes a process by which the spinal cords meninges become trapped or entangled within the spinal column. Subsequent spinal motion stretches nerves, decreasing signals from the brain to the body.

WHAT DOES A DECREASED SIGNAL MEAN?

Dis-ease! Your brain is your master computer sending millions of signals a second throughout the body using the nerves. Together, they control every function in your body including:

  • Blood pressure
  • Heart rate
  • Digestion
  • Breathing
  • Energy production
  • Immune function
  • Cholesterol levels
  • Cell repair

Because your nervous system controls every function in your body, early signs of Adverse Mechanical Tension can include virtually any symptom. Some of the most common symptoms are headaches, neck pain, back pain, weakness, numbness and pain down the arms or legs. But the first symptom may simply be fatigue, slumped posture or shortness of breath. If this tension persists symptoms will worsen possible becoming permanent.

WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS?
New approaches take time to become main stream. Dr. Breig first discovered this disorder in 1961 and had tremendous success with devastating diseases like Lou Gehrig’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Breig penned three text books on this disorder over a twenty year period. Building off Dr. Breig’s discovery, Dr. Yamata further advanced the research using similar surgical procedures starting in 1999. The work of these two neurosurgeons has shed some light on past chiropractic theories and models of health. Their research has led to the development of a revolutionary protocol of biostructural correction (Correcting the Spine).

WHAT IS BIOSTRUCTURAL CORRECTION?
This protocol includes evaluation and release of Adverse Mechanical Tension in the spine. Once the exact location is determined a very specific stretch is applied with a precise direction and force to release the tension. Once the Adverse Mechanical Tension is released the spine is able to shift and change position with ease. It allows misalignments in the spine that have developed over time to start correcting. Spinal Cord Tensions can impede healing of body systems leading to chronic spinal aches and pains.

HOW LONG DOES CORRECTION TAKE?
Often after the first adjustment most patients feel significantly better but the process of biostructural correction takes much longer. Over time your spine can develop many adhesions. Depending on the condition of your spine, it could take from just a few visits to a few years to get the optimal desired results.

HOW CAN I GET THE BEST RESULTS?
Your doctor will teach you the stretches for the spinal cord. These therapeutic stretches effectively help your body get a better adjustment and will also help maintain your adjustment longer. By following the doctor’s nutritional recommendations closely you can reduce inflammation, increase healing support and detoxify systems which promote more rapid healing in your body.

WHY DID THIS HAPPEN TO ME?
Like cavities, this happens to many people. Some of the most common reasons include poor posture habits, little or no emphasis on spinal hygiene, spinal injuries and traumas that are ignored or poorly rehabilitated. This damage may have even begun as a child, even though you did not experience symptoms until much later.
